| What will the 5T MRI do at Tsinghua University? |

Recently, the world's first 5.0T whole-body human magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system has been installed at the Biomedical Imaging Center of Tsinghua University. Leveraging Tsinghua's leading advantages in comprehensive disciplines, integrating interdisciplinary academic resources, and leveraging innovative institutional mechanisms, the two parties will focus on three strategic directions: "Reaching the Pinnacle, Grounding in Practice, and Cultivating Talents": • From software and hardware development to imaging technology, they will thoroughly address major human medical challenges such as cardiovascular diseases, brain science, and tumors through the entire industrial chain. • Strengthen collaborative research and development of industrial technologies to create "medical innovation species" tailored to China's national conditions. • Jointly cultivate high-level innovative talents who can "speak two languages" (integrating expertise in both academia and industry). • Build China's first ecosystem for basic research and major technological breakthroughs! |
